Kombit Against HIV/AIDS 

The “Kombit Against HIV/AIDS” is pecifically designed to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic. It includes a series of targeted activities and interventions to raise awareness, educate the public, and provide support for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. This involves educational campaigns, distribution of informational materials, testing and counseling services, and referrals to treatment and care for those living with the virus. 

Parenting Education Program

This program focuses on providing parents with the knowledge and skills they need to raise healthy, well-adjusted children. It includes the following components:
  • Normal behavior for age and stage of development
  • Age-appropriate disciplinary methods
  • Age-appropriate sex education

Haitian Family Disability Network

The Haitian Family Disability Network is a program designed to support Haitian families who have children with developmental disabilities, promoting inclusion and mutual support for families. It consists of three main components:
  • Support and education groups for parents: this component provides a network of support for parents of individuals with developmental disabilities, offering a platform for parents to learn from each other.
  • Advocacy training to empower families to take an active role to advance their children’s success
  • Helping youth with disability reach their potential, including educational support, life skills development, and recreational activities tailored to the specific needs of these individuals.

MassHealth Redermination Campaign

This program helps individuals and families maintain their MassHealth eligibility following the three-year period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
HHI works with several radio and television networks to produce PSAs in Haitian Creole on topics including health promotion and prevention of disease, reaching greater Boston and 16 other towns and cities in Massachusetts and beyond to Haitian communities in other states and in Haiti. This program brings Creole-speaking specialists in physical and mental health from Haiti, the US, and other countries to share up-to-date information with the public. 

Youth Opportunities and Family Enrichment 

Youth Opportunities and Family Enrichment focuses on uplifting young individuals by providing a range of educational, social, and support services. The program is designed to address the specific needs and challenges faced by today’s youth, aiming to create opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and future success, through a combination of mentorship, workshops, and access to resources.

Addressing the Surge in Refugees

This program is a targeted initiative designed to provide humanitarian assistance and support to Haitian refugees who have been displaced from their homeland due to natural disasters, political instability, or economic challenges. This program consists of three components: promoting access to primary care; promoting vaccination; advancing sexual health, including outreach, education, and testing for sexually transmitted infections, incluing HIV.

Maternal and Child Health Program: “Sante Manman, Se Sante Pitit” 

This program focuses on improving the health and well-being of both mothers and children. It consists of several key components:
  • Reproductive Health: Reproductive health education and services for women of childbearing age, including sexual health, contraception, and sexually transmitted infections.
  • Prenatal Care: Comprehensive prenatal care education for pregnant women, emphasizing regular check-ups and monitoring during pregnancy.
  • Family Planning: Offering various family planning options and counseling to meet individual needs and preferences, including healthy spacing between pregnancies.
  • Breastfeeding: Encouraging and supporting breastfeeding as the optimal source of nutrition for infants.
